My motivation behind the Book

I lost my mother when I was seventeen. I felt I didn’t have sufficient personality and wisdom. I didn’t know why I was here. What my role as a woman was on this earth. I didn’t understand how the books could help me. Trusting in their words, I started researching books on women, in the hope of even understanding myself.

And this is how my quest for finding answers started. I organized a trip to the Amazon to study women in their nature. I traveled the world interviewing women young and old. This is what this book is all about. It is based in many experiences I’ve gathered for the past 30 years.

● You need to be a giver.
Giving is a sign of abundance. You want to share you as a person. People are going to be drawn to you, because your happiness is like honey to the bees. Give of your knowledge, give of yourself, and share your experiences and wisdom.
● Learn to be simple and content. Simplicity is the key to many treasures, one of them being happy. If you are complicated and need things exactly your way or nothing, happiness will run away from you. A positive attitude is a good friend. It will help you see things different. When you feel you are getting too complicated with things, stop-take a deep breath- and look for the simplicity as a solution. Only then you will be a good friend of your happiness.
● You need to De-clutter your home.
This is a must! You need to do this in order to keep a fresh and positive mind. Get rid of all things you have not touched in one year. Give it to the “Good Will” or any other organization. Give it to a friend or a neighbor, but get rid of things you don’t need.

Verdict

Movie follows life story of young American teenager, a recent graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He donates his $24,000 of savings to Oxfam, destroys his driving license, ID and credit cards along with any other document that could relate him to existing society. By taking a new name of Alexander Super-tramp, Christopher McCandless sets off at his adventurous journey into the wild. When he had just thought that he have found the meaning of life within the abandoned bus, where he had set up his camp – circumstances are about to drastically change. Exhausted and ran over by his own ideals, he didn’t want to give up on; Alexander Super-tramp ends his life in national park of Alaska. Whole movie soundtrack was done by Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam which gives a distinctive touch of grunge to movie’s adventurous spirit.

Many people welcomed Hitler into Austria, but within days of the move, 70,000 Austrians were sent to concentration camps. During the Second World War German armies occupied most of Europe. Nazi forces defeated France, took Norway, invaded Yugoslavia and Greece and occupied much of the European portion of the Soviet Union. Germany also forged alliances with Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and, later, Finland, and collaborated with individuals in several other nations.

Such a move would make an instant breakthrough within the product’s niche, whether was it consumer electronics, fashion, military industry or any other. Employer’s hired within processes of manufacture wouldn’t be underpaid as they would be hired by domestic Company released of taxes which Companies from overseas are obliged to pay. Domestic supply chain would reduce expenses additionally, leaving more space to satisfy the lowest layer of capitalism society – workers. If there is such a country with predispositions of making sky rocket success by launching a world brand then it is certainly China.   China Mobile is at the right path to develop in world’s recognized brand. With technology advancements China has better chances, than ever before, to develop a world brand which would certainly make a significant success. Using domestic supply chain and proficient labor force would result in appearance of a high quality product. The only potential problem now is hidden within Chinese themselves – once they launch their own product and dedicate to quality rather than quantity they are about to knock on the doors of the world’s market. Whether is China going to keep on serving western multinational companies, or it will give a shot to develop its own world brand, we are yet to see.

Ben Heine, World Famous Illustrator

Ben Heine:I’ll try to be short for the introduction. I’m a Belgian visual artist, I’ve started drawing when I was a child, I went on with traditional and digital painting when I was a teenager and I started photography a couple of years after. I never stopped producing graphic art. I have a degree in Journalism and I briefly studied History of Art, Painting and Sculpture as well but I’m mainly a self-taught person in Drawing and Photography.

I’ve launched a creative series in 2010 called “Pencil Vs Camera”, it’s somehow a new and powerful form of expression that mixes drawing and photography, imagination and reality. I’m also known for 2 other creative series started in 2010 and 2011: “Digital Circlism” and “Flesh and Acrylic”.

My photos have been published in renowned newspapers, magazines and websites all over the world and I started exhibiting limited edition prints (Diasec finishing) of my creations in well-known galleries and art fairs in different European countries since 2010.

I’m not sure what I’m going to do next, I’m still searching and working hard everyday to do more innovative and powerful art, I’m in a constant evolution and development in my new artistic projects, I’m never satisfied and I try to take fresh directions most of the time. Although my series may look very different, there is always a connection between all the images.

K M Rehan Salahuddin: Why have you chosen this profession? In this world nowadays people are all running behind glory and money, but you have made yourself very unique, would you please tell us the story of early days?
Ben Heine: I would say “the profession chose me”. But you’re so right, we live in a very competitive world. There are so many corrupted people in our current system. But is it really their fault? From a very early age, we’re told to be merciless and ready for action and good results. This is not easy for many artists to be different and unique and to find their place in such an aggressive global structure.

But I think everybody can do it with hard work and determination. We need to be aware of the system’s failures and we need to do our best to improve every angle of the world, as much as we can. We need more solidarity and more love. Finally, there is also a bit of chance and unexpected events happening in someone’s life. It is fortunately or unfortunately impossible to plan everything in advance.

K M Rehan Salahuddin: You have a degree in Journalism, how do you connect journalism with drawing and cartoons?
Ben Heine: I really liked Journalism, I know how important it is for artists to have their works published and promoted in newspapers. Creators need journalists to talk about their work and journalists also need creative minds to have something funny and original to talk about in their paper. Although I barely worked as a journalist after my degree, my journalistic academic background helped me a lot to get in touch more easily with the media, because my brain works like a journalist’s brain, I’m one of them somehow. In some cases, I’m the journalist and the artist at the same time. But as I always say, I was an inventive person before starting my studies in Journalism, I’m not at all involved in Journalism anymore, I’m now focusing on my visual projects exclusively. I feel more confident and I prefer it this way.

K M Rehan Salahuddin: Would you please tell us about “Limits of freedom of speech in political cartoons”, the final thesis paper that you have written for your masters?
Ben Heine: I see you are well informed. This is a sensitive subject. For your information, I’m no longer doing political work since 2009, I’m no longer doing cartoons neither.

I think every artist needs some freedom and space to express their ideas and thoughts. Provocation can be useful to shake people’s mind, but we are not allowed to offend anybody’s feelings or personal convictions. A clever image shouldn’t harm, accuse or take anybody’s side, it should rather make everybody think in an objective and neutral way. This doesn’t mean we can’t have an opinion, it just means that we need to be careful and think twice before doing or saying something. My freedom ends where your freedom begins.

K M Rehan Salahuddin: How do you react when you see a lot of terrorism and corruption around the world? Do you have any plan to do any set/series of creative set on this segment?
Ben Heine: No, I really don’t want to get involved in this. Terrorism belongs to the political sphere, not to the artistic one. All I can say is that I condemn any kind of terrorism. I just really hope all the innocent victims of terrorism won’t have died in vain and that they will be remembered forever.

K M Rehan Salahuddin: “Pencil vs Camera” how did you come up with this idea? Do you want to restrict other artists from doing such thing by owning the creative copyright of this “Pencil vs Camera”?
Ben Heine: This concept is the fusion of two disciplines I’ve practiced since many years. It came very naturally and legitimately. I’m honored and happy to notice it’s becoming a new form of expression for many artists. I just don’t want people to “steal” this powerful and eye-catching invention I initiated and popularized without being credited. To be honest, I’m a bit mad when big companies use “Pencil Vs Camera” images for commercial purposes without my prior consent. This is not fair. I understand Pencil Vs Camera has become so popular it’s hard to keep control over it. But I wish I could be part of every new turn this concept is taking. People need to remember every image of this series is copyrighted and the concept and name “Pencil Vs Camera” are trademarked.

K M Rehan Salahuddin: Ben Heine, is a Cartoonist, an artist, a photographer and a lot more. In your heart what you are? Who you want to be?
Ben Heine: I don’t see myself as a cartoonist anymore, I’m more of an “illustrator”; I try to illustrate every step of my life in a surreal and universal way, with simple tools (camera, pencils, brushes…). To be honest I might do something very different soon. I’ll be a creative and productive person all my life, but once again, I’ll never hesitate to take atypical and unexpected directions when I’ll need it. Surprise is nice.
